Required Basic Qualifications:
• Thorough working knowledge in C
• Knowledge of video/image encoding/decoding and processing fundamentals.
• Familiarity with video compression standards (H.264, MPEG-4, VC-1, etc.)
• Knowledge about color space formats (raw, yuv, rgbs), image/video (sub-sampling) formats, interpolation techniques.
• Hands-on experience on OMX IL
Additional Preferred Qualifications:
• Masters Degree
• Experience working with debuggers (JTAGs preferred), tracing and performance profiling
• Knowledge on unit test and automation environments (c-unit etc)
• Working knowledge on multimedia frameworks (OMX, GStreamer, etc)
• OS Concepts; working knowledge on embedded RTOS
Primary and Secondary Responsibilities:
Develop, integrate, test and maintain video software meeting the feature set, performance and power specifications set for the project.
Develop collaterals like wikis, specification documents, test specification, test results. Follow coding guidelines, development practices set by the organization.
Actively participate in design discussions, requirement analysis and support forums.
Complex Tasks:
Attaining system level performance and usecase needs requires understanding and interaction beyond the component owned by one team. Candidate will need to be comfortable investigating issues in components owned by other teams without authority, to achieve an optimal system
Management/Organizational Skills:
Be able to work with architecture teams and customers to understand the use-case needs and translate them to component level requirements and develop software and system to test them independently with limited mentoring from senior team members.
Team and People Skills:
Candidate needs to work with team members at other sites, countries and customers. The job may require occasional domestic or international travel for customer interactions and software/system integration camps.
Projects and Deliverables:
Candidate would be part of a team developing video software for TI’s OMAP platform and expected to develop, integrate, test and deliver software and associate documentations meeting the quality needs set by the team.
